Forever Going

I am a stickler for accuracy. Most automatics lose seconds per day; this loses maybe 2 seconds perweek(thanks to the high-frequency movement or quartz precision). The sweeping second hand is buttery smooth. This is for the guy who appreciates engineering over flash. It isn't loud or gaudy, but when someone asks to see it, they know it is special. Highly recommend.

I was looking for an automatic watch that didn’t break the bank, and this hits the mark perfectly. The dial is clean and easy to read, and the exhibition case back lets you see the movement, which is a fun touch. It wears well under a dress shirt but is rugged enough for jeans and a t-shirt. The only downside is the stock strap was a little stiff, but after breaking it in (or swapping it for a NATO), it’s a 10/10 daily driver.

This watch is stunning in its simplicity. It slides easily under a cuff and doesn't look bulky on my smaller wrist. The mesh strap is comfortable and doesn't pull arm hair. I’m taking off one star only because the mineral crystal scratched slightly when I bumped it against a metal door—I wish it had sapphire glass. But for a dress watch under $100, you can't beat the aesthetics.

Do not let the price fool you; this is a serious watch. The bezel action is satisfyingly clicky, and the 200m water resistance means I have no fear swimming or showering with it. It is a bit heavy on a bracelet, but that just makes it feel premium. If you are on a budget but want the look of a Rolex Submariner without the fake stigma, get this immediately.

Pictures do not do this watch justice. The way the sunburst dial plays with the light is mesmerizing. I bought this for my wedding, and the photographer kept commenting on it. The movement is smooth (sweeping second hand), and the deployment clasp feels secure. This looks like a $1,000 watch for a fraction of the price. A true heirloom piece for the money.
